The Vintage 1940s FADA Radio 1000 is a rare find for collectors of antique radios. Made by Fada Radio & Electric Co. In New York, this United States-produced tube radio is a piece of history that turns on, making it a unique and valuable addition to any collection. The light goes on and the radio just makes a humming noise. The two front knobs are not the same. Also the clear plastic in front of the stations is missing not sure if it even had plastic there. There is a small what looks like a crack on lower right side and bottom showed clearly in pics. This radio was in our family for years. Please look at all pics. Antique Fada Butterscotch Catalin Bakelite Tube Radio ESTATE Fresh FIND! We have 3 Estate fresh radio’s! Something that you never see anymore, (see our other listings)!!! This is an estate find, I don’t usually sell radios but this is so special! The glass dial cover does have a small piece in the left hand corner. Also, as you can see the material cover is as is. Vintage FADA Model 652 Temple Catalin Radio in Butterscotch with original stamped back panel stating model number and information. From what I can tell, this radio is in excellent condition for it’s age, less notable flaws. Knobs appear to be replacements, they do not match photos of the original knobs for this unit but they are vintage. Small tight hairline crack on one side of case near bottom, closeups pictured. Dark spot on top, not sure if this is part of the character or a blemish. Power cord has been updated/replaced. Potential tiny scratches that I didn’t notice – please examine photos to make your own judgement! AT YOUR REQUEST: I’m willing to disassemble the case from the electronic component for packaging (my disassembly is at your risk upon request- I’m not an expert).

This one is in very nice vintage condition and has no cracks in the plastic that I can see. Please look at all pictures for condition and coloring as each one of these radios has individual characteristics and shading and coloring from age- this should clean up nicely if your wish is to restore the Catalin and know how to polish it- or keep its natural patina. The tuner window glass is not chipped or broken. All internals seem intact and as they should be but this radio has not been power tested due to the condition of the cord- it is brittle and has bare wire showing. The tuner cord is intact and works smoothly and moves the pointer across the glass. While the tuner knob turns smoothly- the on/off/volume knob is stiff/stuck and I did not want to force it to turn so. And cleaning will be. Necessary to make this a working unit. The cardboard back has a model # of 562 on it in faded print so this was either a mistake or substitution from the factory due to supply issues after war OR this radio was missing its cardboard back at some point in its life and someone put a model 562 one of it (they are the same shape and size and are interchangeable)- this is of course a model 659 because of the extra shortwave tuner in it. Please note that it is possible that the internal guts may have been replaced at some point with the model 562 radio and there is no shortwave tuner- I do not know or have any experience with the difference so please look closely at all pictures. Either way- the case is in very nice condition and the glass and tuner scale especially is super rare to find. Butterscotch Catalin ADDISON Courthouse Radio Working Vintage. Up for sale is a very impressive yellow/butterscotch Addison tube radio from the 1940s in cosmetically wonderful shape. Prior to shooting it, I had not noticed that the last vertical bar on the right had slid over to the left and it should be re-glued into position as in photo #. The knobs and bars are all of a deep burgundy color (closer to photo # 11). The cloth over the speaker (which is in very fine condition) should also be straightened and re-glued. Whatever streaks you might see on the outside is marbleizing in the Catalin, and there are no visible cracks in the case – except on the INSIDE floor (see photos 9 & 10). However, these do NOT show on the bottom’s exterior. (Such cracks form over time due to the shrinkage of the Catalin, while the chassis remained the same). The radio has its original cord and several stations can be heard clearly, but with some static between each. VINTAGE 1940s EMERSON TUBE RADIO IN BUTTERSCOTCH COLOR, PLAYS, NICE! Rare Butterscotch Color with subdued white swirls throughout-the body is perfect! Emerson made this model mostly in plain brown or white models. Plays nice across the band in my area with good volume, with light up station dial! Measures 83/4 x 4. This model has a translucent finish, and is sometimes referred to as a Poor Mans Catalin Radio, thats because it really resembles a catalin with its marbled body. The radio is some 70-80 years old. Offering a 1945 Sentinel Wavy Grill 284- NI Catalin Radio in a Butterscotch marbled color. The case is in nice condition with no chips or cracks. The radio powers on and the dials all work smoothly however I didnt get a station. The cord has been replaced at one point. The dial shows paint loss and could be restored or replaced. The mesh material appears to be original with some fraying. I have just cleaned the outer case as it was dirty. Overall it could use a through cleaning. A nice radio to add to your collection. For Sale Vintage 1946 Fada #652 Temple Catalin Art-Deco Tube Radio with the Beautiful Butterscotch case – NICE! The glass dial is cracked and the broken piece is inside the case. It has 1 cracked louver and missing 1 foot. That said, this is a very nice, 1946 vintage FADA 652 Temple Radio. It is unpainted, you can notice that the case is translucent. It includes all of the tubes and looks intact inside. The original knobs are intact and the case is in good condition. Look at the pic of the grill crack. I just noticed a 2nd small crack in the below the louver in the corner. Other than that, there is a minimum of minor scuff marks that may not be visible in the pics provided.
