Vintage 1938 Packard Bell Model 100A “Hi-Lo” radios – a matched pair of classic West Coast Deco sets with that unmistakable green dial and sculpted louver front. Manufactured in Los Angeles, these compact AC/DC sets were designed for strong reception in urban environments and are a favorite among collectors for their clean Art Deco styling and Plaskon cabinets. Both sets retain their original tube lineups (12SA7, 12SK7, 12SQ7, 50L6, 35Z5 configuration typical for the model) and appear largely untouched internally – exactly what restorers want to see. These radios hum when powered on, indicating transformers and filament strings are active, but no stations are currently received. They will require servicing and recapping before reliable use. Up for sale is an early 50′s Packard Bell 602 Tube Radio. I recapped and aligned this set some years back. I think I also had to replace the speaker. I tested the set and it is indeed working as it should, although the volume control is a bit scratchy so it likely needs some cleaner. I’m just getting rid of this guy as I have too many sets that are just sitting around. It’s time for him to go to a new home. The cabinet could be in a little better shape, some scuffs and scratches, but if you know how to refinish them then this should be a fun one. The knobs have some white stuff on them, not sure what it is, but it’s due to the type of plastic used, I cleaned them a while ago but it just came back, so they’ll need to be cleaned again. Oh, the Packard Bell emblem is also missing the letters’ell’. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’m open to offers too, so don’t hesitate to send one.

See title and pics for description. Very cool vintage radio that works great. Has a few condition issues. Has a large crack on the top of the radio. No other cracks or chips. Missing the glass or plastic that covers the dial. Comes with its original tag. Also has a small external speaker that works and is attached to the radio.
