This is a nice 1946 Crosley 66TC radio known as the “American Overseas”. Cabinet has the original finish and apart from one very small repair in the veneer on the right side, it is in very nice original condition. The electronics were serviced several years ago with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced, and the radio plays well. There is some noise when tuning, most likely due to a dusty tuning capacitor. The radio has been on a shelf on display for several years. I believe the speaker was replaced in the distant past, possibly when the radio was fairly new. Volume and tuner control spin are working correctly. I do think it needs a tune up. Cosmetically it is very good condition as pictured. Vintage Crosley American Overseas 66TC 66 TC Wooden Vacuum Tube Table Top Radio. Wood and veneer appear to be in very good condition. Some 60 Hz hum — probably could use fresh power supply filter capacitors. A little bit of cleanup, detailing, possibly a few new components, and wood finishing will turn this into a real beauty. Sound quality is good for a tabletop radio. Dial lighting is dim in darkness. May have one or more burned-out bulbs. Did not verify dial frequency reading correlation with station frequency — dial control may need to be adjusted. Has ungrounded power cord — would be a good idea to bring this up to date with a grounded power cord for safety. The radio is in really nice condition. A couple other screw heads are stripped. All knobs turn as they should but volume/on/off knob has some play but does turn. Has 2 original labels on bottom. Measures 16 1/2″ long x 10″ tall x 8 front to back not including knobs. A new cord and may or may not work but in nice condition. Pictures show best description. Will pack well and insure.
