We have a vintage 1930′s table top tube radio. Manufactured and designed by Philco Co. Made in the United States. This model (37-630 code 121) was introduced in January 1937. All original, with mahogany motif and wood designed inlay, this radio is a majestic beauty for today’s standards. Clean, no major dust in the chassis, no grime, no debris. There are some scratches on the wood body (see photos). Easily repaired or covered. We tested the radio and it works. Clear sound on radio stations, with a light humming out of the chassis. All the knobs work as they should for their function. The materials are all original, no updates. The tubes may be newer. This radio comes as pictured and described. Therefore, as-is sales conditions. This tombstone, or to other collectors, cathedral table top radio measures 19 inches tall, 14.25 inches wide at base, 9.5 inches in depth, 12.5 inches as it curves up at the top. This is a heavier piece at about 26 pounds or 11.8 kg’s. The dials are Bakelite, original, intact, clean and no damage such as chips, gouges or looseness. All are snug in place. Additionally, the bottom is all original solid wood, intact, clean and the chassis is secured in place. The finish is excellent for the age, and original. Again there are some marks, so view all the photos please. Lastly, the radio comes with a compact antennae. An original afrial for better reception, and can be used on all radios. This is a unique & hard-to-find tube radio. A great collector piece for catalog or personal use/display. Local pick-up is also available! This one is in excellent condition, and seems to work. By work, I mean that I can turn it on to see it light up. This is all the testing I have done. I’m not sure if this one specifically is restored, however it is in great condition and appears to work. Cosmetically, this radio could not get any nicer. The dark wood is gorgeous and doesn’t have any heavy scratches or anything. This radio has been kept in pristine condition over the years.
