I did not take apart to inspect the bottom area. In the top of the chassis there is a hole where a rectifier or capacitor tube probably would have been so I’m assuming it was replaced at some point and is probably replaced behind or below (I’m not a radio or electronics person, so only going on assumptions that because the radio is somewhat working, it must not be missing an important part). It has some clipping noises and weird inflections of sound at times but see video where I got it to tune in a radio station and I turn the dial a bit but couldn’t tune in much else. I did hear someone talking in a foreign language once but I didn’t capture that in the video. I can’t find an exact match to the design of the front of the radio so it may have been refinished at some point, maybe just the bottom half below the speaker cut-outs OR maybe that was a style, as if it were re-done on the lower half, you would think you would see/feel a significant separation where the what looks like original finish on the upper half meets the black line and different painted finish lower half. To me the upper half and the vertical center part of the lower half look original to me. You be the judge, but it does look good even if has been refinished, so I believe this would be a good candidate to go through and get fully working. It measures 17″ tall and the base is 13 5/8″x9.
