Knock- out beautiful vintage Majestic Bakelite radio model 5 LA 7 / 5 LA 8 with custom lacquer paint. Velvet smooth Steel Blue metallic lacquer body with Polo White (cream) lacquer louvers, makes this radio a stand-out in any fine vintage radio collection! A one of a kind art piece. We first started with a perfect bakelite cabinet. No cracks, no chips, no excuses. Then expertly finished with automotive lacquer primer and lacquer painted then polished to perfection. Beautiful original (perfect) reverse painted real glass dial. Original rare faceted crystal clear acrylic matching knobs. Radio powers on but only static. Radio will need repairs to play. One small fine scratch on the top at the right rear- see photos. This is a rare radio and not often found. Please inspect all photos and ask questions.

These collectible novelty sailor themed vintage radios are unusual and sought after by radio collectors. Of the four different models in my collection, this one seems to have been the most difficult to find and exceedingly so in this condition. I have four models all different and all in excellent condition and all are restored and play very well! It has an anchor style cutout on the front of the solid wood cabinet and also on the back panel. All parts are intact on this radio, the sails, rails, dial, grill cloth, knobs, etc. Are all factory original. Nameplate is intact on the bow. Measures approximately 18″ from stern to bow at the widest point, and approximately 17″ high. Radio is electronically restored and plays well.
