We offer here a rare vintage 1930s radio. It is the largest Bakelite radio we have ever had. It is 18 inches tall x 14 inches wide and 10 inches deep. Without packing it weighs 27 pounds. The Chassis is marked Made in U. And the Speaker is marked London England. This is a remarkable multi band radio. We believe it is from the Model 203 series. If anyone knows more about the model please feel free to comment. The cabinet has a nice shine and in very good condition with very light wear and some scratches on the bottom. The line cord has been changed. It has a European plug but, I plugged it in with a converter and the pilot light turned on. The tubes did not turn on and the radio did NOT work. T he dial cord works and moved the indicator. The knobs are perfect with some wear and the dial is good with one light spot and a tiny chip at the bottom edge. The grill cloth looks like it crept up leaving a bottom corner at each side above the dial as a gap. Please review my photos as they are part of my description and feel free to ask questions.
