In the early 50′s Crosley began to introduce radios whose designs mimicked the creative styling being introduced by automakers. It is maroon in color and aside from the reproduction feet (every example of these radios that I have seen had hard, cracked rubber feet which could harm furniture finishes) has it’s original cabinet. Its painted exterior still shines and has remarkably few scratches (a testament to the care given by its original owners). The clock and dial bezels show little wear to their metallic gold surfaces. All knobs, both clock and radio, are original and present. The back is original and in excellent condition. The original heavy power cord (note: the radio allowed its owner to plug in a kitchen appliance and this necessitated a heavier power cord) remains flexible and functional. The radio is about 13″ wide, 6 1/2″ deep and 7 high. The clock functions well and I have tested the sleep mode and the alarm mode and they work correctly. The radio plays extremely well with no hum and seems to be picking up stations with in a couple hundred mile radius. I HAVE PROVIDED A VIDEO OF THIS RADIO IN OPERATION…. PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT THE CONSTANT HISS IN THE BACKGROUND IS BEING GENERATED INTERNALLY IN THE CAMERA…. THE RADIO ITSELF IS VERY QUIET BETWEEN STATIONS!
