One of a kind Truetone D723 made by Western Auto company, radio condition is super excellent with no damage to the wooden case, some blemishes scratches mark due to its age. This deco style radio has been fully tested and all components has been checked and replaced where bad or weak, oversize dial look awesome and lighted nicely. This radio is in Good condition. I plugged the radio in and it powers on fine. I could only get static to come through the speaker but I live in a remote area and do not know if that is why I could not get a station to come in. The light on the radio works as it should. The radio is in Good cosmetic condition. The radio case is made out of Catalin Bakelite. There are no chips or repairs in the case. There appears to be a thin hairline on the top of the case (please see picture). This appears to be the only flaw in the radio. The tuning knob works as it should. The original paper work is still attached to the inside of the radio. The model of the radio is 9X1. The radio is a green marbleized color. The radio measures approx. 7 wide by 4 3/4 tall by 4 1/4 deep. The radio will be double boxed and fully insured. I took a lot of pictures to show you what you are receiving. Not often I find a catalin radio with its original sales box. This is one of very few times over the past 30 years. RCA made this cute little catalin radio circa 1938. Extremely highly marbleized rich brown RCA Catalin Tulip-Grill Radio, a model #RC-350. This Art Deco radio is unique with its diminutive vertical rotary dial scale outlined with brass escutcheon, side-mounted brown bakelite knobs and distinctive grill cutout. This model is nicknamed by collectors as the “W-Grill or Tulip” RCA model with the cutaway cabinet similar to the Tom Thumb radios made by Automatic Mfg. This example has rich brown color with stunning heavy yellow marbling on all sides. The catalin cabinet has no fading and. Is all original and in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, nicks, dings, deep scratches, or tube burns to the cabinet or trim. Radio retains its factory original gold tone checkered grill cloth, and RCA Victor water-slide decal on the front of the cabinet. The grill cloth is factory original in pristine condition. From a very nice estate , see all pictures.. No cracks, no chips. Plugged it in and got a station, tunes, works, dial light works. That being said , when volume is all the way down, if you put ear to it, you can hear slight hum, and I noticed if you clip the lead in back to wire, does not seem to work, as if you now do not have an open end, instead a closed loop antenna, then no good. Little bit of buzz and static at times, but does tune in and get a station. Trying not to over talk here, it may need gone over from the years. The cord is nice, use zoom, Cabinet very nice , use zoom. The box says model 9X-2 Jet black, but from paper work seems maybe a 9X-4? That’s about the only issue I see. If you have been waiting for a nice one, this is it. I try very hard to be spot on, I did tune and hear a station and sounded good. But keep in mind this is an antique radio, guessing 1939 era, and anything can go bad any moment. This will be triple boxed and insured.
