The model number is on this radio is100 Serial Number of B -192828. This was an fairly popular radio when it was introduced in 1930′s & still is by today’s standards. You do not see a lot of these radios for sale & especially in this nice of condition. The Wood cabinet on this beauty is in Stunning looking condition to say the least. The grain in the wood is Very Pleasing to the eyes. This cabinet has been cleaned & re-polished which sill retains it’s original sheen or shine. I have taken many pictures of this nice looking & all pictures can be supersized so you may get a good view at this Nice looking & Good working radio. The large round glass dial scale Lens cover is Clean & Clear with No Cracks. The 3 brown Wood control knobs. Control knobs are original & in good looking & working condition. The Solid Wood back panel is in Great condition. There is a long Black antenna wire attached & must be stretch for reception. This Long Black wire must be stretched out in One Direction or another UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT to Receive the best Signal Reception. The chassis is in good condition & it is a 6-tube unit with 3-controls & all 3 controls have been lubricated & are in good working condition. The tube line up is 1-6A7, 1-6C6, 1-6D6, 1-75, 1-25Z5 & 1-43. The chassis has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & all wax/paper capacitors were replaced. The cloth electric cord is in good condition. This radio has been restored to Good working condition. I BELIEVE THE ELECTRIC CORD IS A LINE RESISTANCE ELECTRIC CORD THAT GETS FAIRLY WARM TO HOT WHEN USING THIS RADIO. THIS LINE RESISTANCE CORD BACK IN THE DAY WAS CALLED/NICKED NAMED THE (CURTAIN BURNER) AS IT MAY HAVE CAUSED CURTAIN FIRES. The Amateur (Police) Band on this radio is OBSOLETE but it will picks up a few faint stations better in the evening hours. This Detrola would make an Excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it’s power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. Sized of this Fabulous Gem is 14″ Long, 7-1/2″ Wide/Deep & 10 High & 15 pounds Unpackaged. This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology “unlike modern day solid state radios” can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV’S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc… So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are directional meaning you “may” have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radio usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they will start playing as the tubes have to warm up. I package very well for a safe arrival. It is a model #126 and was introduced in the Fall of 1935 not long after the Great Depression. The molded brown marbleized bakelite cabinet depicts true ” Art deco” as well or better than any other vintage radio. Radio has no cracks, chips, nicks, dings, deep scratches, or tube burns. Stunning Classic Vintage Kriesler 11-7 Brown Bakelite Valve Tube Radio Late 40′s. Sealed mantle The 11-7 was the third model in the fully sealed series offered by. In 1947 and took Australia by storm. With its “Triple-Throat” tone bass, normal and speech combined with it’s performance, which is stronger and richer than ever before. This world range set features both Broadcast and Short Wave. Which has a gorgeously rich mottled case with the. Striking console size dial. Which is in fantastic condition. The radio presents in fantastic condition. Which has been restored internally as well as externally and is in mint condition with only light scratches from over the years. It has its 4 original knobs in fantastic condition as well as its original speaker grille and all its fine frets are intact also. Which was a weak point in these. It has had a reproduction cloth fitted to the top and to the back, which is identical to the original weave pattern. It even still has its original KRIESLER badge in flawless condition. Made in 1947 the 11-7 ran for several years, this being a later example from 1948 and. Has just had its 70th anniversary. Which is amazing considering how pristine this example is. With a flawless cabinet it’s original vibrant speaker grill in perfect condition and its dial still as good as it came from the factory. The “J” model is is not just a vintage radio, but an absolutely magnificent piece of art that displays the result of design and craftsmanship of the Art Deco period. Very rare to find in such wonderfully restored condition, it just radiates its striking beauty. From the rich and delicate burl wood to the very intricately detailed side veneers, it has a majestic presence that is a feast for the eyes and ears. The green “magic” tuning eye is bright and responsive to tuning of signals. Powered with eight tubes, it has great sensitivity and selectivity. It also has tone control for your listening preference and a sensitivity control on the rear of the chassis. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The cabinet retains the original stain, which was rejuvenated and nourished. The trim was redone with dark walnut toners to match the original appearance. The entire cabinet was then given nine coats of clear lacquer. Finally, it was waxed using a high quality orange oil/beeswax polished to further protect and enhance the beauty of the wood. The original wooden knobs are in excellent condition and were redone with the same process. The burl wood veneer has some minor separation/cracking (which is common) that can be seen in the photos. It was stabilized and sealed to decrease the risk of further issues. The glass dial face/cover is crystal clear and the multi colored graphics are crisp and nicely lit with two dial face bulbs. The grill cloth is original. The power cord is new, using the original plug. Felt pads were added to the bottom to protect your furniture. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the external seven foot antenna wire. At 82 years old and newly restored, this gorgeous and rare piece of treasured furniture will provide many more years of reliable pleasure if well cared for. This is a large and heavy radio at 31.5 lbs. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good working order. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. It is rare too, as very few of these in restored condition are available. And the sound from the seven inch speaker is fantastic. With bass, treble and speech control, it is a real treat to hear and see this gem. This is a high quality radio with multiple wood species veneers and inlays. The green tuning eye is bright and very attractive. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost detail. The cabinet retains the original stain, which was rejuvenated and nourished. The top and bottom trim were redone with dark mahogany toners, which match the original Bakelite knobs. The entire cabinet was given six coats of clear lacquer. It was then waxed to further enhance the luster of the finish. The dial face has a few scratches as can be seen, but overall looks wonderful and is nicely lit from the pilot light. The dial cover is new. The grill cloth is original and in excellent condition. The power cord has been replaced, using a period correct plug. There is one minor “bug bite” to the front, and a very small area on the left rear side that has been repaired. Both can be noted in the photos, but really don’t detract from the total package of this very desirable radio. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the external antenna. At 82 years old, this completely restored radio once again looks like new. It was quite the masterpiece in its day and will now bring many more years of enjoyment if well cared for. It is a larger radio, and will certainly be the center of attention where it is displayed.
