The Wood cabinet is original that has been clean & polished & is clean as a whistle from top to bottom front to back. This beautiful cabinet is in Outstanding condition (not perfect) but extremely nice & still retains it’s original sheen or shine. This radio did not come equipped with dial scale light. The grill cloth is original & in fantastic condition. The control knobs are original in great working condition. The original paper label on the bottom is in fantastic condition. The chassis is complete & in good condition. This is 7-tube unit. The tubes this radio operates on is two-12BA6, One-12AU6, one-6BJ7, One-35C5, One-13AT7 & One-19T8. The controls were lubricated & work well The electric cord is in good condition that can be safely plugged in. The chassis is also equipped with switch on the backside with An rCA phono Jack that you could connect a phono/record player or other devices. This rCA phono jack has” NOT ” been tested but there is no reason why it shouldn’t work. If you have any questions or need additional photos please send me your request. It has been tested and actually sounds pretty good which surprised me because I didn’t expect much. Now I see why audiophiles swear by vintage tube amplifiers. This model also has a phono input so you can attach a turntable if you like. Cosmetically, this unit is very clean. There are some marks on the wood, but noting too unusual for a item that is over 50 years old. The date code stamped on the bottom is 122061, just in time for someones happy Christmas in 1961. As such, it is now available once again for your consideration. It has been extremely well cared for, as it looks brand spanking new! The wood finish is flawless, with nary a scratch or mar. Completely restored electronically, it sounds fantastic with that rich tube sound buyers of these types of radios so much appreciate. With seven tubes, built in loop antenna and tone control for your listening preference, it has excellent selectivity and sensitivity. It also has a phono/Aux. There is a terminal for attaching an external antenna wire if needed in your locale. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The radio was completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. The cabinet was treated to nourish and enhance the wood. It was then given two coats of wax with a beeswax/orange oil polish to further enhance and protect the finish. The dial face has crisp and clear graphics and the dial cover is crystal clear. The knobs were polished. The grill cloth is original. The power cord has been replaced. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal loop antenna. At 60 years old, this mid century radio was made close to the end of the tube radio era. It was also during a time of peace and prosperity, prior to the turbulent 1960′s. Now that is restored, it will provide many more years of reliable listening pleasure. It is doubtful that you will find another of this model radio in such excellent restored condition. It was equipped with a small electrostatic tweeter that was burned out and no longer working. It made only a minuscule difference in the sound, so it was not replaced. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good working order. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. It has a Phono Jack input that can be used to play music through your. IPod/MP3/ or Smartphone I tested it and it works great! For those unfamiliar with Zeniths G730 it packs quite a punch in the sound department and Zenith collectors tend to favor it over the similar but rectangular C730 design. It has a large oval speaker and sounds wonderful. Rarely are these models found in this good. Cosmetic condition and sounds this good! This model is considered the “Royalty of Radio”. Every Zenith enthusiast should own at least one in their collection of high-performance tube radios! Zenith and Antique Radio Collectors Dont let this one slip by! Made in the USA by. Zenith Radio Corp; Chicago, Illinois. It has a bottom slide rule dial, large fabric top front grille with gold tone accents. The finish is Mahogany but looks more like Cherry. There are 2 knobs. That control on/off/volume and bass & treble control. Is a very solid, long lasting radio with amazing sound. Perfect for collectors or as a functional display piece to show off in your office or home & will go with any décor! It would also make a unique gift! Get a jump on early Christmas shopping and give this as a gift for yourself or your vintage electronics loves one! You will enjoy listening to it for years to come! This radio sounds absolutely perfect with no hum, just clear. Whenever you turn the dial you get a station. The exterior wood looks to have been refinished at one point and has been polished gently with a natural wood polish to bring out the shine. The radio almost looks like new! The cabinet is in great shape, no serious nicks, no cracks, solid and structurally sound. There is some minor wear on the top, sides, bottom, and front but nothing that detracts from the overall look. The knobs are original and in amazing condition as is the fabric grill cloth. There was no dial light offered on this model by Zenith. The Power cord and plug are also original and in good pliable condition. The original back is sturdy and in good condition with all of its original screws in place. All four feet are intact as are the labels. Dimension: 15″ in length X 9″ high X 8 in depth. I use plenty of Bubble Wrap, extra padding and double box or use extra box support material. It will be marked Fragile & This side up on the box to make sure it is handled carefully.
