This radio is in good condition for its age but does show some wear such as scuffs, scratches, marks, and areas of dirt (mainly on the chassis). Aside from that, the radio still looks pretty nice overall. We are including a “linear relay” cable with the radio. Unfortunately it is not working right so we must sell it AS-IS for parts or restoration. Please read our technician’s notes below. This item has been tested by our technician, a ham radio operator of more than 55 years. Here’s what he had to say: Tested the on both CW and SSB. The drive power is erratic and sometimes does not work at all. There is also no power output from the transmitter. Both the “Final Tuning” and “Driver Tuning” control shafts slipping and need adjustment. This could be the cause of the erratic power issues. If you have any questions about this equipment before or after purchasing, our tech will be happy to assist you. Hallicrafters SR-160 Transceiver in fair but untested condition. I listed it FOR PARTS OR NOT WORKING because I have no way to test it and it has been hacked on. Look at the pic of the back and you can’t miss the huge square hole that was cut–for a fan I guess? Also notice the round hole in the top of the case. On the front the Hallicrafters “h” logo has been glued on and some glue came out around the edges. Inside it looks okay. But I think there should be a metal plate cover over the final tubes and there isn’t one. Anyway, I have no interest in this radio. FOR PARTS OR NOT WORKING. Hallicrafters S-77A Shortwave Radio Receiver In working condition! I can only imagine what could be picked up with an external antennae. All the switches and knobs are complete and working (headphone jack was not tested). This is a very rare unit in working condition. Measures 19″x11″x10 and weighs 23 pounds. I printed out the operating and service instruction and will include it with the radio. The power cord rubber insulation is starting to deteriorate. Hallicrafters SX-71 HAM tube radio receiver, a speaker and short wire antenna were connected, the radio powered on and reception was okay receiving broadcasts on two of the five bands with some static, the radio could use a detailed cleaning, one cap appears to be newer replacement and a previous owner added a small speaker to the inside lid, the speaker works okay, otherwise the radio appears to be all original and should be serviced due to age. The faceplate really looks great with practically no signs of age! Also included is the original manual, which is brittle but intact. We do not have a funcitoning PS-150 power supply in the shop, so we are unable to power on or test. We have made no attempt to power-on this unit or test in any way. Unless you are capable of working on this unit yourself (or have access to someone who can), we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
