Model Eight Tube Radio. 1960s High Fidelity, Mid-Century Modern. Made in the USA! Fully restored and professionally aligned 100% Original. (except for new capacitors and tubes as noted). The KLH Model Eight was Henry Kloss’s first electronic product. It may be the world’s first true high fidelity table radio, and it is the ONLY tube radio with an acoustic suspension speaker. This example has black knobs, solid walnut cabinets and a 4 speaker driver. Receiver is SN 5581 and the speaker is SN 007904. This receiver and speaker have all of the original labels. Speaker has clean, original grille cloth and speaker plug (this is often missing). Included is a clean bound reproduction of the Owner’s Manual. This radio has been meticulously restored. The cabinets were sanded to bare wood and fresh lacquer was applied. The big can cap was cut open and stuffed with 4 new electrolytic caps. All other electrolytics have been replaced with NEW film caps. Diode and some resistors were replaced. All TUBES have been replaced with NOS. Missing center tuning dial was replaced with an NOS Rogan knob. Stick-on feet added to speaker bottom for protection. Broken bakelite back plate was replaced with new laser-engraved plastic reproduction. All jacks on the back plate were replaced with new Switchcraft jacks. New reproduction schematic on bottom of receiver. Receiver was taken to a professional technician for complete testing and alignment. The Rogan tuning knob is slightly different from original. It is attached with 2 set screws. Just contact me first. I will DELIVER for free within a 30 mile radius of Vernon, NJ (but not to NYC). Each component wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed in its own carton, then both boxes packed within a new master carton, cushioned with packing material. Final box weight is about 22 pounds.
