This LASALLE table radio is a rare and obscure brand. Upon researching, I can not find much information about it. But, the chassis is made by Clinton Mfg. Of Illinois, who made a number of radios for other companies. It is very similar to. But it sure is a very attractive radio with its decorative grill and. The multicolored dial, which is a real treat, especially in a darkened room. The cabinet is in almost perfect condition. The brass bezel has been slightly polished, leaving some of the original patina, which works well on this radio. It not only looks charming, it sounds good too. With five tubes, it has good sensitivity, selectivity and reception. And of course a. S with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. It is doubtful that you will find another of this radio any time soon, if at all. The cabinet was stripped of the old varnish and lacquer, keeping the original stain. It was then nourished, rejuvenated and balanced. The bottom was redone with black lacquer and the trim with dark walnut toner. The entire cabinet was then given eight coats of clear lacquer with excellent results. There is a scratch on the top as can be seen. That does not detract from the overall excellent appearance of the radio and the photos speak for themselves. The dial face is in excellent condition with crisp and clear graphics that are nicely lighted with the multicolored display. The original glass dial cover has been polished and is in very good condition. The bezel is in excellent original condition. He knobs are original and have been polished. The grill cloth has been replaced with a beautiful design that is a close representative of the original. The power cord was replaced with a period correct modern cloth covered one, using the original plug. Felt pads were added to the bottom to protect your furniture. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the 12 foot external antenna (provided). This is a very rare radio with a charming presence and it. Certainly demands a place of distinction. Just imagine all of the news of the world, music and stories this wonderful radio has broadcast. This radio would be a wonderful as a gift or as an addition to the collection. Years old and newly restored inside and out, it will continue to provide many more years of reliable enjoyment if well cared for. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off.
