Model Eight Tube Radio. 1960s High Fidelity, Mid-Century Modern. Made in the USA! Fully restored and professionally aligned 100% Original. (except for new capacitors and tubes as noted). The KLH Model Eight was Henry Kloss’s first electronic product. It may be the world’s first true high fidelity table radio, and it is the ONLY tube radio with an acoustic suspension speaker. This example is from later in the production run. It has black knobs, walnut veneer cabinets and a 4 speaker drivers. Receiver is SN 011428 and the speaker is SN 009618. This radio has all of the original labels and the original speaker plug (this is often missing). Included is a clean bound reproduction of the Owner’s Manual. This radio has been meticulously restored. The cabinets were lightly sanded and fresh lacquer was applied. The big can cap is a NEW electrolytic. All other electrolytics have been replaced with NEW film caps. All TUBES have been replaced with NOS. Stick-on feet added to speaker bottom for protection. Power cord was replaced with appropriate non-pollarized type. On/off switch was replaced with appropriate 30° type. Receiver was taken to a professional technician for complete testing and alignment. Grille cloth was replaced with Irish Linen. Two corner dings were filled with brown epoxy as shown in the photos. Just contact me first. Each component wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed in its own carton, then both boxes packed within a new master carton, cushioned with packing material. Final box weight is about 22 pounds.
