Here’s a SUPER COOL vintage Gates Broadcasting Console!! Here’s what I know….. First of all, the Power Transformer is missing. It appears that the original went out with a bang, and probably lots of smoke! Beyond that, It will still need quite a bit of Maintenance & Repair, based on the fact that most, if not all of it’s original electrolytic capacitors are present and these components should almost always be replaced in a piece of equipment this old. I removed the small UTC transformer inside (looks like a mic/line input) from its mounting clamp so any interested buyers could see what it is. It has the number C-7401 on it’s side, and the number AS-3154 on it’s top. And of course I put it back in place after photographing it. The 3 other Input transformers (marked AI-3006 on top) appear to be a Gates component / part number, as I couldn’t see a brand or find a cross-reference for them. The metal cabinet has some surface corrosion / rust on it. A few switch-tips are missing. The pair of two (2) Round, Grey transformers in the center of the chassis are both UTC part# CG-710. They appear to be output transformers according to the UTC catalog. A quick online search for this UTC part number pulls up a vintage UTC catalog in which you can see all the exact specs. Let the pictures speak for themselves. Then, it did have a non-original power transformer installed that was barely mounted. So please look at the photos, since I have updated them from the original listing to reflect it’s current state / condition. This price includes the heavy double-walled box, proper materials, and time to safely package this mixer. And it will be packed very securely!
