This radio receives stations with good clear sound and volume with no hum using just the loop antenna inside the case. The bakelite case is a mottled brown with a gold metal grill. The case had a small crack in the bottom back corner as shown in the photos. The crack has been repaired and strengthened with a metal plate epoxied inside the case. It has no missing chips or bad odors. I have thoroughly washed and buffed the case and it looks remarkable for a 69 year old. The knobs match and are original. The original hardboard back is still in great condition. The inside chassis has been thoroughly cleaned; the volume control de-oxidized for smooth volume changes and all moving controls lubricated. I have replaced all old electrolytic and wax capacitors in the chassis with new modern capacitors and have checked all resistors. The electrolytic capacitors have been installed inside the black cardboard tube just like the original ones. Brittle or bare wiring has been replaced or re-insulated. All 5 easily found tubes have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The line cord has been replaced at some point and is still pliable. The speaker is in great condition. The radio has been successfully bench tested for days and should continue to play loud and clear for many more years.
