Welcome With only 12 photos its kind of hard to show all the details of a vintage radio that in such nice shape as this one is. As far as originality, its very original except for now the rear panel was just duplicated and replaced as shown in photo 11. The original panel just started to break up way to easily. The finish on the cabinet looks very nice, it may have been freshened up at one time, that’s what I’m guessing anyways. And probably how they did it is by carefully removing the chassis and trim, then they probably cleaned and prepped the original lacquer clear then sprayed a few new coats of lacquer. And by prepping the lacquer I think they did some wet sanding to it. Other then that the chassis and tubes looks untouched and all original and very clean. This radio must of been only kept in a nice dry environment and was well taken care of. Also the radio works very well, very impressive, very clear sounding, picks up stations well, no extra noises or hum sounds. Even certain overhead lights that I have will cause interference with radios but did not seem to effect this radio at all. I got this radio through a estate and did not get any history on it so all I can do is try my best at reasonably guessing what may have been done as far as its condition and describing what I have done to it. And what I have done is mainly carefully clean and inspect and I tried to duplicate and replace the rear panel. The finish on the cabinet looks pretty good but I did do some detailing to it by touching up a few spots and rubbed the finish out. Also I rubbed a little scratch cover oil into the finish and fully wiped that off. That was just used to improve any of the light nicks or marks that would barely show in the lacquer finish. Under bright light outdoors, the finish really brightens up and takes on a more reddish look. Indoors the darker lighting makes it look more brown like. All the controls work very well, Only 2 of the memory push buttons have been set, I’m not sure on how to program them so I left them alone. The dial light does work. Also there are 2 wires that usually hang out the back of this model radio but I tucked them along the side of the chassis. Those wires are for hooking up auxiliary audio from a phonograph or a tv for back in the day. I doubt anybody is going to be using them today. There has not been any in the last 3 months that i can tell. Also I forgot to take a photo of the bottom, but in case your wondering the bottom does have the original label on it and it in good shape. It shows a layout and the model number which is 21AQ.
