VINTAGE DECO 1940′S JETCO MODEL PI-12 COIN-OP RADIO TABLE COOL

VINTAGE DECO 1940'S JETCO MODEL PI-12 COIN-OP RADIO TABLE COOL

This was made by the Jet Sales Co. Of Seattle, Washington and came with different radios and tops. I can only assume that you were allowed to choose which one would fit your decor. These were frequently used in commercial settings like hotels, etc.. On his stock tag, he listed this radio as 1940. The wood cabinet has one small flake in the veneer on the very bottom right hand corner (see photo). Other than that, it looks great. The chrome legs and trim are in very good condition showing light surface scratches and scuffs, but no dents, cracks or breaks that I can see. The black top still has a nice shine to it and it also has light surface scratches, but no chips or breaks. The plastic silk screened radio panel is in extremely nice condition. It is easily read, but has two small tight cracks in it at the middle screw holes, top and bottom. They are hard to see in the photo that I took, but they are there. On the bottom left hand corner is a little flake in the silk screen on the panel (see photo). The knobs on the radio and clock are excellent and turn freely. The metal escutcheon around the clock has some small chips in its finish. The clock face, dial hands and pointer are in excellent condition and move properly. The glass clock cover is unbroken. The aluminum coin slot plate also shows normal signs of age and wear: light surface scratches, scuffs, etc… But no cracks or dents. The top reads: Model PI-12 and One Hour for 10 cents. The mechanism itself is on the back and is in very good condition. It has a couple of small chips in the paint that are down to the metal and is missing the locking mechanism. There is a metal identification tag on the box that states: METER-MATIC TYPE M-22. There is an aluminum identification tag for the radio on the back as well that states that it is a JETCO PI-12 Jet Sales Co. Someone must have over ridden the coin op mechanism as it will work like a normal radio with the knobs up front. The cone of the speaker, from what I can see of it without physically tearing this apart, has no holes, tears or rips. The power cord appears to be original and has no cracks or bare wires showing. It is still pliable, but the plug end has two chips in it. 24″ tall, 17 1/2″ wide and 14 1/2 deep. Here is your chance to add a very nice, hard to find coin-op radio to your collection! I don’t claim to be an expert on these so PLEASE review the photos as they supercede the description. If you need more close-ups we will be happy to oblige. It will be packed with styrofoam and a heavy duty box. Thank you for your interest!
